Windborne's Music of The Doors
Jim Morrison, Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek and John Densmore became household names in the late 60's and 70's as the rock group The Doors. Windborne's Music of the Doors premiered in May of 2000 with Robby Krieger joining us on guitar. He only plays with us occasionally but the rest of the Windborne group handle the duties comfortably. Once again, rich harmonic structures throughout the song list allows the orchestra to soar and the band to cut loose on some of the most popular tunes that The Doors ever recorded. Randy Jackson once again leads the group through the catalog of tunes and gets the audience dancing during songs such as Touch Me, 20th Century Fox, Five to One, Break on Through and of course, Riders on the Storm.
The show features 21 songs of Doors favorites including Light My Fire, Roadhouse Blues and even Spanish Caravan, the complex virtuoso guitar tune. The set list even includes a couple of tunes compiled by the surviving members of the original band such as The Ghost Song and The Changeling. As with all of Windborne's shows, the band stays as close to the original as possible while the orchestra soars and adds that extra richness that these songs afford.
